About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling the world and helping one stay at a time

ABOUT ME

Initially I'm kind of a shy person, but I've got a big, interesting, educated personality I let out when I'm comfortable. I love to learn and I enjoy creating art. In the past few years I've gotten into jewelry/metal-smithing and oil painting. I am a student at Central Washington University in Washington State and currently studying at the University of Tasmania, Launceston Campus. I love most animals and there isn't anything I am particularly afraid of. I love to travel and plan on doing that as much as I can after school and before I settle down.

PHILOSOPHY

The older I grow the more I see and the more I realize that I'm changing too quickly to set much in stone.
I try to listen more than I speak and I treat others better than I expect to be treated. So far I've learned it's hard to move forward if you're expecting to get things from other people before moving forward. By giving without want for return you can be surprised if you are and never disappointed if you're not. Though sometimes this can be hard to remember; we humans tend to be quite selfish at times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted some people, but I would really like to do more traveling and staying with others.
I really love hosting; getting to meet new people and getting to cook for them! I love cooking and trying new dishes both to cook and eat.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting (so far)
It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. It was a bit intimidating the first time, but the people I met have been great.
I've stayed with one other person, but intend on doing much more. Recently most of my travel plans got muddled, but soon I will be back out exploring.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning more than I love teaching. I enjoy listening more than speaking, but I know that I have things to give as well. I'm young, but I've had many experiences, not so many traveling, but of life, love, and friendship. I'm told I'm quite the story teller and that my laugh is almost child-like; it's pure and contagious.
I'd love to learn to cook food from all different cultures as well as how to become more passionate about life without selfishness.
