Hi! I'm Amber, and most of my family refer to me as the world traveler and globetrotter (since no one else ever leaves this town!! ) At this point, I have been to 34 states and 5 countries, but I am hoping to expand that country count by at least 6 or 7 this coming summer. I currently manage an art program based in Rome during the summer months, and I am also a painter!

I absolutely love exploring new places and meeting new people, and I have also been told I can strike up a conversation with anyone. In my spare time I love chilling with my two cats, Tookie and Sugar! I have a very unique background with a lot of random talents, from being a nail technician when I was 17, to a professional facepainter, librarian, cake decorator, warehouse worker, and most recently a corporate events coordinator working with Amazon.com before I started working for the art program!!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I am going to be in Europe for about 3 months from end of May until the middle of August 2017. I am currently looking into the WWOOF program (wwoof.net), but I am also considering couchsurfing across Europe so I can really get to know the locals and meet a lot of new people! My plans are to be in Rome for the month of June, then traveling to Siena for the Palio, then taking the train from Italy to England and stopping off along the way to explore different cultures and countries, then taking a 7 day cruise back to the states in August!

In 2011, I had the opportunity to enter the Uffizi museum in Florence with 12 other students to sit and draw directly from Michelangelo's Doni Tondo for almost 2 hours, as well draw from other paintings from the Raphael and Titian rooms. As a young artist, you often are not given the opportunity to sit and truly observe a masterwork completely on your own. I feel this experience really shaped me as a painter and a person

I currently run an art program as I stated above, but I also teach drawing and painting, and one day hope to be a college art professor. I am also always willing to learn new trades and talents, and love to share my knowledge of a lot of random subjects!

I absolutely love to cook! I can be a courteous and clean guest, and willing to assist around the house! This will be my 5th time to Italy this summer, and my second time to the UK, so I would definitely love exploring new areas as well as visiting past locations as well and sharing my art history knowledge around Rome!
