Hey, I’m Amber! I’m a full-time traveler and freelance designer from the Netherlands. I started solo traveling in 2021, and honestly, I haven’t really been able to stop since (I guess it isn’t something you just ‘get out of your system;). My curiosity for the world, different cultures, and wild adventures keeps pulling me back, and settling in one place with a 9-to-5 just hasn’t worked out for me (yet). Right now, I’m exploring Asia, diving into new experiences, practicing my surfing and jiu jitsu wherever I can and meeting incredible people along the way.

I love adventure!!!—surfing, hiking, exploring off-the-beaten-path places, or just having deep, random conversations over a good meal. I’m independent, easygoing, thrill-seeker and always up for a laugh.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love staying in people’s homes and meeting locals (or anyone with more experience in the area than me). It’s the best way to really connect with a place and get to know it on a deeper level. I find that being around people who live in the area gives me a true sense of the culture and vibe, far beyond what I’d get from a guidebook or hostel.

I can be the life of the party, swapping travel stories and taking everyone to the coolest spots, or I can keep it low-key, enjoying a chill evening with a good movie or book. I’ve got a lot to share—travel tips, fun stories, my languages and I’d say many more interesting topics.
