Hello!! So I'm Amber. I'm a 24 year old nanny from Houston, Texas. Overall I'm an easy-going, friendly, cheerful person. Though I'm quite a homebody and enjoy nights in with family and friends, I also enjoy getting out and exploring. Whether that be my city or yours, I'm up for it. I love adventures of all shapes and sizes!

This April I'll be traveling to London, York, and Ireland and I could not be more excited. First I'll be traveling with my best friend in the world. She's been working at a church in York for two years now. Last time we traveled England together it was more with a touristy group but now we're "adults" looking to carve out our own adventures and experiences. Our main priority is experiencing the beautiful nature and being able to appreciate the country like a local would. Sure we like the touristy bits (I mean you've got to check them out at least once right)- but we both know that oftentimes the true gem of traveling is being able to connect with the people who live there. It's so easy to miss the heart of the country if you're worried about checking off everything from your list, so we'd rather see where the wind takes us and who we run into.

As a guest we're tidy, respectful, and try to be as little as a bother as possible. I appreciate the idea of opening your house up to a stranger, not to mention asking little in return, so we definitely make sure our actions reflect that. Of course we'd love to hang out with you and get to know you a bit as well if you're up to that! That's what the cs community is about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I touched on this a bit above, but my absolute favorite part of travel is meeting locals. I love being able to have conversations, hear people's stories, and experience the city the way locals do. My goal traveling is to soak up as much of the authentic culture while I can. Plus making friends around the world is one of the best feelings. I've yet to have my first CS experience, but it seems like a great way to connect with a community while traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Watching movies is one of my favorite pastimes so I tend to love a lot of them but my favorites include: Back to the Future, Good Will Hunting, The Way Way Back, The Skeleton Twins, Trainwreck, X-Men, the Harry Potter films, anything with Robin Williams... oh the list could go on and on so I'll leave it at that for now.

Harry Potter is my all time favorite book series. I don't mean that lightly- I'm kind of a huge nerd about it. Harry Potter conventions level nerdy. Needless to say if you're ever reaching for conversation topics with me that's a safe bet. (I'm a proud Hufflepuff btw)
