About Me

**My apartment is in Albuquerque, but I work in Santa Fe, Sunday nights- Tuesday nights. Which means I can't host on those days. **

I grew up in North Carolina, moved to Santa Fe when the universe put me there, moved to Seattle when I got bored, and returned to New Mexico when I could no longer stand to be apart from it.

I like exploring, dancing, yoga, swimming, drinking, eating vegan food, and lounging around . I care a lot about other people and kindness is super important to me. For the past seven years I have been working at homeless shelters and it's been good for me. I recommend it to everyone! I'm friendly and like laughing.

I ended up not having a car, but I am way more into riding a bike anyway. Sometimes I go to school. I got my bachelor's degree in 2006, but still haven't figured out a career. Predominantly I am interested in being happy and helping others and being a good person.

(Amber is my middle name, and what my parents call me- and why all my references refer to me as such. Dusti is my first name, and that's what I go by now)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined back when I was a youth and I could never afford hotels, nor could anyone my age that I knew.

Now it's just part of me wanting to serve the world. Traveling should be accessible to all, and paying for places to stay is expensive.

Also meeting people from different places is pretty exciting.

All that social justice stuff.

Taking math classes and not being sure why.

Being blissful as hell after yoga.

Going out and seeing bands

Hot springs!

Riding bikes for transportation

Love love love love love!

Music, Movies, and Books

Rowdy music.
If not that, lyric-driven stuff.

There is this movie called, "Year of the Dog" I like a lot
And I recently saw "Spy" and it made me super happy.

I thiiink I have 3 favorite books, and they are
Tortilla Flat
The Color Purple
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to meet a sting ray once.

Annual Bollywood Dance Party, Santa Fe, New Mexico
No one drinks, everyone dances, great music.

Teach, Learn, Share

"Fun fun, think about fun"- Rebecca Black, "Friday"

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter and company and I guess I could try to cook you something vegan to eat.

And I have a spare bike.
