About Me

CURRENT MISSION

celebrate life and love

ABOUT ME

I want to drink beer and wander the streets with you.

If you come at the right time of week, with some gas money, we could go to some hot springs.

I grew up in North Carolina, moved to Santa Fe when fate told me to, moved to Seattle when I got bored, and returned to New Mexico when I could no longer stand to be apart from its ridiculous beauty.

I like exploring, dancing, drinking, eating delicious food, and lounging around relentlessly. I'm a feminist. I'm queer (I mostly think of myself as part straight, part gay.). Predominantly vegan diet. Nudist; mostly just outside in the sun. I'm friendly and like laughin'! There are a lot of things I'm angry about, but I generally express myself in Love.

I really love bike rides and dancing and nia and yoga. Bodies are so cool to have!!

(Amber is my middle name, and what my parents call me- and why all my references refer to me as such. Dusti is my first name, and I've taken it back!)

PHILOSOPHY

I don't believe in science OR religion, I believe in looooove

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's been a while. I want to start again, by having a home and using it as an available space for other people to add awesome to their lives. I think a major key to a better world is community.

Travelers shouldn't have to pay for accommodations.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a little of it in various travels around the country.

I've hosted a few folks from this website in two of my homes.

In my current home I've put up some people. One BAD experience. The community yelled at him, which was pretty cool.

Interests

I've been working at homeless shelters for the past 5 years, and I really care about that community.

Feminism, racial competency and equality, ethical treatment of animals, non-wastefulness, nudism, queer rights, body positivity.

Being blissful as hell after yoga.

And getting drunk. :)

I am interested in adventures! Or just walking around and seeing really pretty places. Nights out. Party nights in. Non-party nights in. Swimming! Especially in lakes and things.

Dancing is also one of the things that makes me feel my best. I hate when people say someone, "can't dance" because, dude bro- if you're dancing, you can dance!

Music, Movies & Books

Rowdy music. If not that, lyric-driven stuff. Of course, those two aren't mutually exclusive.

Amanda Palmer. Bob Dylan. Leonard Cohen. Dead Milkmen. Neutral Milk Hotel.

I'm a sucker for graphic novels. Sometimes I find myself somewhere and I just wanna go home and re-read One Flew Over's the Cuckoo's Nest. I like non-fiction about people and food.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Once I found 10 bottles of wine in a Trader Joe's dumpster. I relocated them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Find that weird balance of anger and love?
