About Me

UNFORTUNATLY NOT ABLE TO HOST IN OCTOBER AT LEAST

Hi dear couchsurfers, I'm Ambre. As I'm writing, I'm thinking that it's not so easy to write a description that really fits us and represents who we are... That's why I won't be too long, you'll meet me in real life!

In a few words, I am a passionate person, constantly enthusiastic and sometimes a little too idealistic... I love to travel but I have decided to travel at a lower environmental cost, i.e. exclusively by train !

Concerning my interests, the most important thing to know is that I am an absolute great lover of nature, mountains and especially of all the animals !
I love to go on long hikes and love all the outdoor activities.

I also love to meet people, to exchange experiences with people from all over the world. I appreciate people who are often smiling and spread a joy of life !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the concept of Couchsurfing is pretty cool. I like the concept of people helping each other, of doing things without any ulterior motive and it allows people without much money (students for example) to travel.
But more than that, it allows you to meet people from all over the world, to discover new cultures and to exchange experiences but also to discover a city through the eyes of a local.

Update : after having been hosted by 6 different people, I can confirm couchsurfing is a real life experience, incredibly rich in humain terms. I think there is a kind of couchsurfing community sharing some common values and this way of travelling allows people of different age and different nationalities to connect with each other !

Interests

I could talk about animals, ecology and nature during hours but I'm open to all kinds of discussions and in general very curious about everything.

  • ethics
  • cooking
  • running
  • politics
  • reading
  • hiking

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : essentially old French music of the 80's but also some jazz, Radiohead, Angus and Julia Stone, Supertramp, Coldplay, Phil Collins...

Books : it is difficult to choose one but I recently read and loved "Sarah's key - from Tatiana de Rosnay", "a very long engagement - from Sebastien Japrisot" and "What the Day Owes the Night - from Yasmina Khadra".

Films : I love good dramas such as the films of Clint Eastwood, I think there is something special in them (they often convey deep emotions). I am also a big fan of the Miyazaki's animated films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The extraordinary adventure of my life is still to come: it is the Interrail in the Nordic countries that I will do alone this summer.

Otherwise, I would say my Erasmus year in Vienna (I really felt in love with this city) and my two weeks trip in Argentina.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can bring you a big smile, enthusiasm and warmth, very simple but important I think.

I can also teach you some French words.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
