ABOUT ME

I'm an outgoing person and really don't have a problem meeting new people- though I dislike negative Nancy's. I grew up in a small town in good ole Nebraska, USA, went to school for a few years in New Orleans, then transferred back to Nebraska to finish my education. I recently moved to Bahrain from Kuwait after spending 3 years in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia and 1.5 years in Kuwait. On the island of Pohnpei, I finished 2 years as a Peace Corps and took a job as the academic coordinator for an educational program. Pohnpei changed my outlook on life and made me want to see the world even more! I love people, culture, and living life to the fullest.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met many surfers while living on the island; however, due to my living arrangements (home stay and small apartment), I was not able to host comfortably. I took surfers out with me and showed them the island as a way to help out my surfer hosts. I enjoyed getting to show off the island and learning from the surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only just begun as future surfer but, like I said above, I have entertained surfers before.

I received my Peace Corps placement and 3 weeks later I left for a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific where I spent 3 years working to improve the educational sector within a developing country.

While traveling I would love to have an opportunity to volunteer my time. I miss my days of volunteering and feeling that "goodness" that comes from it.
