About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the rest of North America as a vagabond. This venture was planned for 2010 but had to get put on hold ;-(
ABOUT ME
I am originally from the US and emigrated to Canada in 2001. It all started with a road trip. My partner and I liked it the first time we came, so it became our destination more and more often. It wasn't long before we started judging the country [mostly the Toronto area of Ontario] on "would we want to live here?".
It has opened up a whole new world. Canadians are VERY informed about the rest of the world, and I get news that is mostly factual without the usual bias. I can now look at US life as an insider looking from the outside, and at Canada life as a 'local' with an outsider's background.
I'm laid-back but do stress over some things. Partner is laid-back about everything
PHILOSOPHY
Courtesy is contagious
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been doing ridesharing for a few years, almost always as the driver. I have met some of the most interesting and diverse people from around the world. Not a single bad experience yet. CS is like rideshare without the wheels.
My job takes me all over North America, mostly across the US. Hotels are boring and get old very quickly. During slow times that I am not flying somewhere, I host visitors that have also done a lot of travel, and a sometimes a new member, just so they're not left without a place to stay.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed a few, hosted a few. Every experience a good one. CS and rideshare are two great ways to meet people you'd never connect with normally.
I'm open to people that want to visit the city as part of the scenery and genuine vagabonds. Not so keen on the ones that want to use my place as a hotel room or B&B.
Interests
Where do I begin? My interests are so varied. I love the subject of cars - especially the engineering and technology side. But I'd rather talk to people that have interests and experience that I do not. My mind is always open to new ideas, views on the world's problems, ways of doing things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I now travel for work and see a lot of historic sites across North America. The most memorable event (nothing to do with work) was being witness to the Challenger disaster from Cape Canaveral / Kennedy Space Centre.
