ABOUT ME

What to say, nothing worse than bios written by the subject! I'm a high school teacher, student and musician. Also try and be a useful member of society. Spent time teaching in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. Spent 6 months teaching in Santiago, Chile. Fell in love with South America, and looking forward to returning one day. At the moment working for a non-profit working towards an Australia free from poverty, big goals but good work! Always looking for opportunities to learn from. Spent time writing, recording and releasing an album with a good friend of mine (see my friends list). And would like to travel more before i move on in life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At this moment in time, i hope to meet some people through couchsurfing and share their experiences of those places. When i get back, i would like to host people to share the experience of my place. I'm back home now (Nov 2011) unfortunately cannot host people however would love to meet up and hear some of your travel stories, help you make some more!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While traveling in the past i was lucky enough to stay with a bunch of locals i met along the way. Their generosity was inspiring and helped me have a more authentic experience of the local lifestyle.

A story: 24 hours on a Greyhound bus. Had crossed the Rockies during the night. so spent the whole time staring at my reflection. Get to Edmonton Alberta. Had organised to meet a muso with the moniker Epic and stay with him and his girlfriend, Lindsey. Desperately needed a shower. Was unfamiliar with their shower/shower curtain configuration. Proceeded to flood their bathroom while i washed off the stigma of bus travel. Felt terrible. Both became extremely close friends who i miss, and i hope to see again soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

Sounds: hip hop, rock, post rock, soul, funk, dub, reggae, classical

Movies: I like movies and shows that make me think, or at least have some commentary on social issues. Same goes with the music and books i read and listen to. I also like blockbusters, but thats more like a drug habit! Feels good at the time usually followed by regret!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent time training at Sityodtong Muay Thai camp in Thailand. Alongside champions and homeless orphans adopted by the camp.

Teach, Learn, Share

Education is not just a job, but also a passion of mine. I would love to be able to share this passion with others. I believe i need to learn more about the world to be a better teacher. This is where you come in!
