About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making my dreams come true and motivate others to do the same ;)

ABOUT ME

I´m a world citizen :) Most of my life I spend in Germany. When I was 23, I moved to The Netherlands where I spend almost 7 years studying art therapy and working. In 2014 I lived in the UK and in 2015 I moved to Australia. Next to this I stayed a month in Kenya and a month in the Caribbean. I just love travelling!! There are great things to discover in this world.

Well, I´m interested in people and their stories and passionate about travelling, art, music, dance, nature, good food, meditation... I am curious about people from different cultures and backgrounds and their view about life.

I believe diversity is a treasure and a birth place of growth. It enables you to develop your own preferences, challenges your world view and gives the opportunity to find the common ground of love and compassion. I encountered so many differences, yet everywhere I went, I found the basic needs and wishes back, that we as humans all have in common. Interesting to see the different forms of expressing those (same) values.

Friends would describe me as always busy (making plans), a creative thinker, loyal, friendly, enthusiastic, balanced, a good listener, supportive, good for partying, reliable but not always on time :), a maker.

PHILOSOPHY

Live the life you have always imagined! Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting. I must say that I haven´t had the chance to host much, because my roommate doesn´t want to have Couchsurfers (unbelievable but true). Anyway I´m in contact with the CS group of my town, I sometimes participate at meetings and I always like to help people in need for a couch with advice and information. I like the meetinggroups!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started CS in summer 2009. I was backpacking for 6 weeks in France and Spain and it was the best way to learn something about the people and the country to couchsurf there!!! Since then I always couchsurf on my travels or meet people through CS.

Interests

Well I have too many interests to list them all... I am certainly a creative person. I am passionate about making art (painting, sculpturing e.g.) playing a bit of guitar enjoying concerts, dancing (Salsa, Bachata, Merengue e.g.). I like being out doors in the woods or at the seaside. I love animals and pets and worked as a volunteer at our local cats and dogs home as a dog walker to give those nice creatures some love and affection. I like food and wine! and I certainly like to try new things wherever I travel.

Well next to this, I´m also interested in the interests of others, I´m interested in new things I might get interested in and I´m interested in the exchange of interests. That´s one of the things I like most about CS, you always get to know things you never heard of before, you can try out things you never did before, eat things you would normally not even considering eating or you can show things you did before a hundred times to someone else and make this person happy, because it´s a new experience for that person. Whatever, it´s always fun to discover and do things together. That´s interesting :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I don´t have a TV for more than 7 years and I really don´t miss it. But sometimes I like to watch some series, world news or a movie online.
Books... I love audio books! Perfect for traveling or a long car ride. I enjoy reading real books as well like novels, specialized literature ... One great book I recently read: The artist way.
Music ranges from Electronic, Singer Songwriter to Reggae, Salsa.. Jazz.. very difficult to answer this question ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ONE?? There are many! Traveling from Nairobi (Kenya) to Arusha (Tanzania)in tiny crowded buses on almost non-existing roads.
Joining the international street painting festival 2011 on Curacao.
Snorkeling at the great barrier reef
Needing to attend a medical emergency on a plane, as I am a nurse, and getting rewarded with a first class seat.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share a good time and everything else what comes along spontaneously.
I would love to learn some Spanish! It's on my bucket list :)

I would love the people I meet to challenge me in some way. Give me something to think about, make me love or cry, share your thoughts or wishes with me. Or else, I am happy with a glass of wine and a bit of silence ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Share experiences, thoughts, views, travel stories :) I can cook a nice meal and teach you some Dutch or German.
