About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Work hard and take photos to keep me sane from said work.
ABOUT ME
Hey all, I just moved to a new area in Vancouver and finally have a space where I can host again!
I'm a big-hearted, goofy biologist who's artistic. A jack-of all-trades if you will. I love photography, art, music, film, and nature. I love a good laugh and have been known to cut a rug from time to time.
PHILOSOPHY
Hugs and high-fives make the world go round.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted and surfed a number of times.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's been amazing! I've met some great people from all over and have shared great travelling/life stories and experiences.
Interests
I love love love taking photos. You can check out some of my stuff at www.amieenns.com. I like to go for coffee, hang out with friends, try new places, read like a fiend, play guitar, listen to music, and daydream about my next adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up listening to motown/soul/funk (Martha and the Vandellas, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Bill Withers, Marvin Gaye, Ann Peebles), folk (Cat Stevens especially), classic rock (David Bowie, Bob Dylan, the usuals), and old country (not new), but I also listen to some newer stuff (Beach House, Beirut, Tame Impala, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, ...).
Books: I've read a lot of the classics (Tolstoy, Margaret Atwood, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Hemmingway, Steinbeck, Joseph Heller...), and new stuff (Zadie Smith, Murakami, Atwood...). Some top books: "1Q84" by Murakami, "Roots" by Alex Haley, "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt.
Movies: I like everything, except musicals and scary movies. Netflix is a good friend of mine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Driving down the west coast with the fog and windy roads is so incredibly beautiful and the best driving I've ever experienced. Every turn seemed to uncover even more beautiful scenery.
2) I've ridden in a few helicopters for work, getting dropped off at a wetland for the day in northern Alberta. It was scary to be dropped off in the middle of nowhere (all I had was bear spray and a knife) and an awesome experience at the same time.
3) I learnt how to sail a boat! A tiny 2-person boat. For a summer. It was great.
4) Touring around Paris the right way: at night, on the back of a new Parisian friend's motor bike.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a little ukelele and guitar.
I'd really like to improve my french.
I like being able to share travel experiences, which of course motivates me to travel more.
