About Me

I'm passionate about discovering how people live in different parts of the world. I love learning about cultures, traditions, and everyday life—especially beyond the usual tourist spots.

I'm also fascinated by all kinds of vehicles—cars, airplanes, ships—and I find historical architecture really inspiring. Visiting old buildings and learning the stories behind them is something I truly enjoy.

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, exchanging ideas, and seeing the world from new perspectives. I believe that each person we meet teaches us something—about the world, and about ourselves.

Although I’m still working on improving my English, I see every conversation as a great opportunity to learn and connect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi, I'm Amir!
I'm from Tehran, Iran, and I live here as well. I'm passionate about travel, not just for seeing famous sights, but for getting to know the real lifestyle and culture of the places I visit. I believe that behind every city and every face, there's a story worth discovering.

Whenever I host or travel as a guest, I bring excitement, care, and my best energy to the experience. Every journey, every conversation, and every connection expands the way I see the world.

I'm fascinated by all kinds of vehicles—cars, planes, ships—and I find historical architecture especially inspiring. Meeting people from different countries is one of the things I enjoy most, even though I know I still need to improve my English. But I'm always eager to learn and grow!

To my future guests: every time I travel, my world gets a little bigger, and hosting you is a way for me to keep exploring even when I'm home. I’d love to hear your stories and share pieces of my culture in return.

Let’s make great memories together!

Interests

I’m passionate about learning how people live around the world and love discovering local cultures beyond tourist attractions.

I have a deep interest in vehicles—cars, airplanes, ships—and enjoy visiting historical architecture and learning their stories.

I’ve attended auto shows and even visited the World Expo, which were amazing experiences full of innovation and design.

If there’s a museum nearby, I never miss it! Museums help me connect with the history and spirit of a place.

Meeting people from different backgrounds is always inspiring, and even though I’m improving my English, I love learning through every conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I’m particularly interested in historical books focused on the lives of influential individuals and the history of places or brands. I prefer listening to audiobooks or podcasts for a more flexible experience. Some of the ones I enjoy are about the lives of famous leaders, entrepreneurs, or the history of iconic places and companies.

Movies:
I’m particularly drawn to films about the World Wars and the stories around them. I also enjoy adventurous movies that take me on exciting journeys, such as Saving Private Ryan and Dunkirk. The themes of bravery, sacrifice, and history in these films deeply resonate with me.

Music:
I love epic music that inspires feelings of power and grandeur. I’m also a fan of energetic Latin music, which always boosts my mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most thrilling adventures I’ve had was hiking through the mountains to reach the stunning Shui Waterfall in Khuzestan province. The journey was challenging but rewarding, and staying overnight by the Soozanban cabin near the train station added a unique touch to the experience. What made it even more memorable was the warm and welcoming locals, who greeted me with kindness and made me good feel. It was a perfect blend of nature, adventure, tranquility, and cultural connection.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I’d love to share my knowledge of Persian culture, language, and history. I can also offer practical tips for traveling and staying in Iran — like how to find affordable local accommodations, where and how to exchange money safely, and how to book domestic transportation such as buses or trains. I'd be happy to recommend delicious local dishes and the best places to try them, from traditional favorites to hidden gems. On top of that, I can introduce you to useful Iranian apps that make your trip easier — including those for navigation, translation, and
ride-hailing.

Learn:
I’m always eager to learn more about different cultures, local traditions, and new languages. I’d love to hear about your travel experiences and the unique customs from your hometown.

Share:
I enjoy sharing my time and experiences, whether it’s exploring the city together, enjoying a meal, or simply exchanging stories. You’re welcome to my home, where we can make the most of our time together, and I’ll provide you with a comfortable space for your stay.

A Note About Cooking:
I must admit, I’m not the best cook myself, but luckily my spouse is an excellent chef and will help with meals. Together, we’ll make sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay! Also, since we live together, it's important for guests to know that we share our home with respect and kindness.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest, I’m respectful, tidy, and always grateful for the opportunity to stay with someone. I enjoy sharing stories, good conversations, and positive energy.

I can offer insights into Persian culture and life in Iran. If you're interested, I’d be happy to teach you a few Persian words or talk about Iranian food, history, and traditions.

I also enjoy helping out—whether it’s preparing a simple meal together (with my wife’s help!) or giving a hand with everyday tasks.

In our culture, bringing a small gift for the host is a beautiful tradition. I usually bring something local from Iran—like handmade crafts or tasty snacks with unique flavors from my homeland—to create a warm and new experience for us to share.

Above all, I bring openness, curiosity, and deep appreciation for those who open their homes and hearts to travelers like me.
