Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been fairly active on Couchsurfing since I started living abroad. For me, it's more than just a way to find a place to stay — it’s about connecting with people, sharing stories, and creating meaningful experiences. I’ve met some incredible friends through the platform, and I love how Couchsurfing makes the world feel just a little bit smaller and more welcoming.

Whether I’m working in Uzbekistan, visiting Lebanon or touring Switzerland, I enjoy the exchange of cultures, conversations, and seeing a place through a local’s eyes (or showing someone around my city if I’m the host!). It’s those spontaneous coffees, park walks, or late-night chats that make travel truly memorable.

Books: I enjoy literature that inspires personal growth, with The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho being a favorite.​

Movies & TV Shows: I'm drawn to dystopian and fantasy genres. The Lord of the Rings trilogy captivates me with its epic storytelling, and Black Mirror intrigues me with its thought-provoking narratives.​

Music: My tastes include classical compositions, French music, easy listening, and artists like Lana Del Rey.​

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my ERASMUS year in Copenhagen, I immersed myself in the city's rich culture and sustainable lifestyle. Exploring the historic streets, cycling alongside locals, and experiencing the city's commitment to green living deepened my appreciation for cultural immersion and environmental consciousness. This period not only broadened my academic horizons but also enriched my personal growth through meaningful connections and experiences.​

Teach, Learn, Share

Cultural Immersion: Diving deep into local cultures, traditions, and histories is essential for me. Whether it's participating in community events, learning traditional crafts, or simply sharing stories with locals, I cherish experiences that offer genuine insights into the way others live.​

Historical Museums, Opera, and Classical Music: I have a profound appreciation for history and the arts. Visiting historical museums allows me to connect with the past, while attending opera performances and classical music concerts enriches my soul.​

Nature, Hiking, and Scenic Walks: The great outdoors is my sanctuary. I love embarking on hikes and walks that offer breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility.​

Quality Conversations: Engaging in meaningful discussions is something I deeply value. Whether it's sharing personal stories, debating ideas, or exploring new philosophies, I believe that genuine conversations can lead to lasting connections.​

Spontaneous Day Trips to Neighboring Cities or Countries: I thrive on spontaneity and adventure. There's something exhilarating about deciding on a whim to explore a nearby city or even cross into a neighboring country for a day. These impromptu journeys often lead to the most memorable experiences.
