Music, Movies, and Books

Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Birdie. I loved the original Taking of Pelham 123 before i even heard of Reservoir Dogs. Mimino is a wonderful Soviet movie.

I love music with a passion. I probably mostly listen to what music journalists call "indie rock" - Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Flaming Lips, Broken Social Scene, dEUS. I also have a passion to classic rock and album rock, you name it - Neil Young, Beatles, Bob Dylan and such. I like Jazz of almost any kind. I also love local, non-English, music scenes - Israeli, French, Russian, Icelandic, Catalan. Listening to songs in a foreign language is an opportunity to learn it.

Books - Lately i am re-discovering Hebrew literature and especially poetry, after the Israeli public school system made me hate it :) Thanks to my Catalan teacher in the Hebrew University i also discovered Catalan literature, which is relatively little known, but very good. And of course, i am very lucky to have Russian as my mother tongue, so i can read the Russian classics - Tolstoy, Chekhov, Pushkin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I play keyboards in a band. We played a few concert, but the most amazing concert we played was on a beach, after midnight. All the musicians were at their best, the sea waves really tied the songs, the crowd and the band together.
