Going to really cold places:
Socks and gloves are the foremost important things to be taken care of. Proper fleece socks are a must.
Multiple thermal layers stack and work.
Cover feet with a plastic bag and wear shoes. Protects from wet cold.
Snow is dangerous, ice is dangerous. Proper shoes are must. A long stick to check depth and road below the snow is a must.
