This is a very sacred religious site in Hinduism, and according to the Hindu scripture Ramayana, Lord Rama spent approximately 14 years of his life here.
Gupt Godavari is a very interesting place because it is a cave in a hill, and a river flows out of that cave, even though there is no snow or any other source from which the water could originate.
I recommend you should visit Chitrakoot district to see and enjoy the beauty of Chitrakoot Dham, it is about 100 km from Khajuraho which is a very famous tourist destination.
