Hiiii Im Ammar! Im from the Bay Area and I absolutely love traveling. Im lucky enough I have a remote job (that doesnt have meetings for the most part) which allows me to roam around. Ive backpacked through a bit of SouthEast Asia and I have lived in E Africa and Pakistan. Currently embarking on a cross country train trek from the Bay to Boston where Ill be stopping in major cities along the way. My current itinerary is looking like Oakland, CA to Salt Lake City, Utah to Denver, CO to Omaha, NE to Chicago, IL to Milwaukee, WI to Grand Rapids, MI to Durham, NC to Washington, DC to Baltimore, MD to Philadelphia, PA to NYC, NY to Boston, MA. Theres no real time constraint or rush so I just want to enjoy each city until i feel its time to move on. At the end of this journey Ill probably jump on whatever thing has caught my attention at the moment and ride that wave until whenever.

Besides traveling I love reading books, working out, listening to podcasts, and searching for new music. Im huge into fantasy books and my fav author is probably Brandon Sanderson. I watch tv shows and specifically loveeee horror movies. Super super down to talk about whatever topics when the conversation is solid and just as willing to chill out a bit and read in silence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I looove meeting new people. I always remember new cities and places by the amazing people I meet there. Id be super grateful if you were willing to host me and would totally be down to treat you out to your favorite restaurant or new places to eat in the city as my way of saying -much appreciated-.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent 2 years volunteering with the Peace Corps in Tanzania living in a rural village on a mountain at 4000ft altitude. I was teaching high school biology to 9th, 10th, and 11th graders from 2018-2020. I recently went back in Oct21 to catch my original freshman class graduate as seniors and it was one of the most wholesome and fulfilling moments Ive ever experienced.
