About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To gain as many unique experiences as possible.

ABOUT ME

I am a college student at the University of Tennessee studying psychology and elementary education. In the fall, as a graduate student, I will be student teaching in an elementary school. I work A LOT because I my main passion is traveling which is an expensive hobby. My current jobs are driving a blind lady to help her with errands and help her take care of her children, Front Desk supervisor at the Knoxville Marriott, and teaching four-year-old Sunday school. My boyfriend (Ryan, a 23 yr. old public accountant)and I have been dating for almost two years and have traveled a lot together in that time. Most likely if I'm going to be couch surfing or hosting we will be together, which is why I have included his picture in my profile picture as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now it would be difficult for me to open up my home because I have a roommate, but in the future I would love to share.
I'm planning a trip to Europe with my boyfriend this summer and I would prefer to get the in depth cultural experience that couch surfing provides while we are there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None....YET!

Interests

Other than travelling...I love to scrapbook, snowboard, volunteer in my community, play sports for fun, play cards, watch my sister play volleyball, listen to music, try different cuisine. I really enjoy watching foreign language films and I have several years of Spanish training so can read it really well but would love to be able to verbalize the language better. I am very close to my family and try to spend as much time as possible with them just hanging around, listening to their stories, and talking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the best experiences I've ever had was waiting outside for 12 hours in Times Square on New Year's Eve to watch the ball drop. When midnight struck and all the confetti started falling from the buildings it was one of the most exciting and beautiful things I've ever seen.

Another beautiful moment was seeing the "Supermoon" a rare cosmic event effect the tides on the beach in Florida. The moon looked to be about twice its normal size so the beach was well lit for a night stroll with my toes in the sand.

My whole life I've always had a strange fascination with the Statue of Liberty, so when I was finally able to make it to New York City...tears filled my eyes at the sight of Lady Liberty.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that anyone you meet has the potential to teach you great life lessons, so I never discount anyone. I am curious to learn about all the different cultures and to see how similar and different people in different places are.
