ABOUT ME
We are married and just moved up to Anchorage from MN for the fun of it. I work as a TA with the Anchorage School District, and Laura substitute teaches. Laura grew up in Indonesia and I grew up in Japan, so if you want a label for us check out TCK.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are kind of just setting down roots in Anchorage now, so rather than doing a lot of surfing ourselves we would love to host people who pass through.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We couchsurfed our way through the US on our three week trip driving up here to AK. It was great staying with people we knew at various levels. The end result was that we felt close to all of them, like they were all connected in some special way to us, almost like family...some of them were. I have gone on bike trips in Japan and on occasion stayed with strangers who invited us in to their house. These times were amazing learning experiences and morale boosters for the remainder of the trip.
Interests
We like experiencing different cultures, experiencing nature/wilderness, bird watching, XC skiing, camping, hiking and cooking a mix of foods that keep expanding with the different places we have lived. We love to learn from people we meet.
