À propos de moi

UPDATE 2: Currently in Wake Forest, United States — where it seems nobody has heard of Couchsurfing yet!

UPDATE: Previously in Vienna, Austria, but not able to host at the moment.

I was born and raised in Egypt, blessed with wonderful parents who gave me and my siblings everything they could to help us become who we are today.

When my father’s health declined, I devoted two years of my life to caring for him alongside my mother. He passed away in early 2016. I have no regrets about the time I spent with him or the personal desires I put aside — those moments were priceless.

Today, my life is a mix of passions and professions:

I have a full time sales and data analyst job.

I work independently as a Data Analyst.

And, of course, I’m a traveler — I began exploring the world in 2017 and haven’t stopped since.

Traveling has taught me more than I ever expected, even about things I thought I already knew.

Back in Egypt, I spent weekends teaching English to children from low-income families, ages 8 to 13. My goal was to give something positive back to society. The joy on their faces when they told me it was the first time they’d learned something in that way is something I’ll never forget.

One thing to know about me: I love Austria — so much that I consider it my second home. Vienna is always my first stop whenever I travel in Europe.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

For me, Couchsurfing has never been about saving money. It’s about sharing life with others, creating meaningful memories, exchanging cultures, and learning from each other — keeping the good and letting go of the bad.

People who judge others by birthplace, skin color, or cultural differences are missing the point. In my eyes, real Couchsurfers are respectful, open-minded, and curious about the world.

I first joined CS in 2015, attending events in Cairo and meeting both Egyptian and international friends. My first trip abroad was to Vienna with my family, and soon after we made an impromptu trip to Athens — in the same month! Since then, I’ve been hooked.

Centres d'intérêt

Music, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, swimming, cycling.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love the music of Omar Khairat — I consider myself lucky to live in the same era as his work. To me, he’s as talented as Mozart (whose music I also adore; I’ve listened to most of his works and even visited his house in Salzburg).

Movies: 80s classics are my favorite, though I enjoy many modern films too.
Books that shaped me: Winning, Straight from the Gut, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Hard to pick just one — here are a few:

Hosted my first CS guests: a group of six travelers from Japan.

Spent an entire day inside Vienna Opera during its free open day.

Jumped from a 15-meter-high bridge into the water.

Swam in both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean on the same day.

Stayed awake for three days straight while traveling in Luxor and Aswan.
