About Me

About Me

Current Mission: Utilise the education and experience I have to better the world and those I come into contact with!

I’m a Scientist by day, exotic animal foster parent by night! I have used the grit and determination to be where I am in my life and it’s all thanks to living life on its terms. I’m the type of person that sees the silver lining and best of every situation and adventure that life takes us through and on. I work in a lab setting, in the elements and sometimes sit at a desk going through case files and reports. That’s what the glamorous life of a forensic anthropologist is like, it’s almost nothing like the show Bones portrays my field of science! I’m also gay adjacent, if that is gonna be an issue I thought I should throw that out there. It’s a part of me, but not what I’m defined by!

Be it a night, or more than one I love to make connections and have a kickass time with new people able to host, with reciprocity once I’m able too. I am out of contract now in my career field, so I only work when I get a call and asked too! So technically unemployed by choice, but still active in the scientific community in my area of expertise. More time to live life, have fun, go on adventures and experience life on its terms and not mine! 🤙🏻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

How I Do Couchsurfing

I am back on the platform again after a five year absence due to work and personal conflicts not allowing for me to be the best host possible or travel as the surfer I would like. As a surfer I don’t take up too much space and can literally sleep anywhere and on anything, I usually crash on my brothers hard floors when I stay with him in Seattle. Have you slept in sub-Saharan Africa on makeshift beds made up of the dirt floor, seeing as I have a few times now I love to engage with my host when time permits, I am respectful and aware that each host has a life and they’re allowing me to crash it for a day or couple of days. I don’t require anything fancy being a surfer, I even come packed with my own towel for showers and I tend to eat out whenever possible when surfing, so I don’t require anything more than maybe to know where a clean glass is and the toilets are located. I offer when surfing a copy of my valid DL to my host to see when I typically arrive, just to validate that I am who I am claiming to be. Also I can give contact information to my host for any unforeseen issue or need to know my contact details (home address, mobile number, email address and such). I know that it does help put a hosts mind at ease when a surfer offers up those little things to validate their identity and such.

When I’m a host, it’s just the opposite and I make sure that those surfers crashing my life for however long have everything imaginable to ensure a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. Since the residence I use for hosting surfers is in the beautiful coachella valley and is in the setting of golf courses as far as the eye can see, you best bet that the atmosphere is always calm and tranquil! I even provide all the linens, towels, toiletries and even a fully stocked fridge (more often lots of beer is in it too) and freezer that you can let yourself graze as ya like! I don’t mind hosting either guys or ladies and couples are cool too. I just know that two surfers at any given time is the limit due to space and boundaries! I don’t mind when having people surfing at my place if they are verified or not through the platform, I always do ask to see valid identification when you first arrive to just put my mind at ease that you’re the same person that was using the platform.

Interests

I love the wilderness and being one with nature, seeing as the outdoors and being one with nature is just a refreshing and enjoyable experience. I also love to try anything once, go to live shows or events and even if they’re something I normally wouldn’t be into. I always say yes when it’s feasible to most any adventure presented to me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve got eclectic taste and depends on my mood or what is appropriate for the situation and such!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen the Aurora Polaris, it was life changing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you almost anything science related that you could think of, I stay up to date in other areas of science than my own field. I would love to learn about others lives, lifestyles, their favourite local places that aren’t well known to visitors. I’d love to share stories about travels we’ve had in the past, or maybe reminisce about growing up and comparing culture differences, and even share a home cooked meal of our favourite foods!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I was born across the Atlantic and raised all over the world. I’m cultured, I’m able to hold a conversation and I know the main thing most want to talk about is my career in science and being a forensic anthropologist. I have lived life so much, traveled to places I wanted and want to, plus I have a view on life that’s different than others. I live life as to allow it to dictate where the day takes me, or with who and especially the chances to say yes to a new adventure with new people!
