About Me

I grew up in northern California, Texas, and the Netherlands, but have been living in BC, Canada for the last 5+ years.
I love good stories, all kinds of art, writing, comedy, animals, kids, singing, and theatre.

My career is in theatre, but I am a very down to earth person. I'm an ENFP, TCK, middle child, and I just go with the flow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a job directing a film in Las Vegas that fell through at the last minute due to unprofessionalism on their part. Instead of getting mad, I'm using these three months that my friend is subletting my room to get out and explore the West Coast. :)

Interests

Making, collaborating on, or discussing art, theatre, and music. Chatting for hours getting to know new people. Dance parties. I like playing with kids or pets, walking around in cities, going to see shows or bands I've never heard of, running, making jokes, and learning new things.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS:
I'll read anything by J.D. Salinger. I love Harry Potter, Yes Please!, and any kind of poems, myths, or stories.

MOVIES/TV:
Her, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Cloud Atlas, Inside Out, When Harry met Sally, Portlandia, OITNB, Dr. Who, etc.

MUSIC:
I like a lot of dancey stuff, but also a lot of Death Cab stuff. I really get into the lyrics of songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For the past few months I've been organizing Kids Days for the Syrian (and other) refugees that have recently come to Vancouver. It's a lot of work to organize myself, but so worth it. It's important that these new families have a chance to breathe (and laugh) during the chaos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to learn anything you can share, as well as teach you the basics of anything I might know!
My favorite is listening to people talk science to me; seriously, go on and on about the intricacies of space, a type of creature, or anything like that!
I will also love to hear any songs or poems you have. Share your art with me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm up for any kinds of fun, be it Netlfix night, planning an awesome themed party, or going out somewhere loud.

I bring:

teach you basic guitar or ukulele (I'm traveling with my uke!)
Sing you a pretty song
Animal facts
Pet or kid sit
efficiently plan or organize an event for you
clean your kitchen
a good listener for your life story
I can edit your papers for you
someone enthusiastic about your city
