I'm likely on couch surfing for some of the same reasons you are! I love exploring the world but not in the typical tourist fashion. I enjoy learning more intimate secrets of the place I am visiting, drinking coffee from the locals favorite café, and talking with people who have fascinating stories.

Spending the last two years in Sub-Sahara Africa in remote villages is pretty kick-ass. Being a part of a community whose lifestyle is so different from your own is incredible. To be taken in as a family member from folks you never dreamed of meeting is community at its finest.

I really hope that I can share the home of people who enjoy trading stories. As much as I'd love to share of few of my favorites, I would just as much love to hear yours. I have found that it can be difficult to find people who are genuinely interested in hearing about other peoples travels. It's great to have a 30 second snapshot story ready for most friends when they ask about your escapades but the pleasure of telling a journey in its entirety is such a joy.

Oh, I've also often heard that I'm a pretty easy housemate. Sign me up to help cook dinner or wash the dishes after our superb meal!
