ABOUT ME

I went to college, then I graduated and had no idea what to do. So, I traveled to the Caribbean to visit friends. That was cool but my plane tickets only gave me 5 weeks there. So I went back to the mid-west and was still working at the job I had during college. I got to interact with lots of people so that's great but my heart holds a greater desire for adventure. So I searched for a while, and landed in Arizona with a sweet nannying gig. Loving it so far but needing some friends who love adventure! Couchsurfing is a fantastic community. Hoping to meet people here!

PHILOSOPHY

People are made for relating! And we seem to go to great lengths to avoid relating to each other in this USA culture right now. But, there are many of us who want to smash those cultural norms, so let's get to it. Let's exist TOGETHER.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

An old classmate from college mentioned this website once. At the time, I had no idea what it was and then immediately forgot about it until about a year later, after watching Craigslist Joe. I checked it out, immediately created a profile, and planned a trip for two weeks from that day.

I love the vision of this community. Since joining though, I have been living with friends/employers and haven't had the opportunity to host. I look forward to one day being able to host travelers from all over!
It's fantastic to know that you can travel almost anywhere, and have somewhere to stay all while making new and lifelong friendships. Awesome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived with a family in the Carribbean for 5 weeks. It was pretty fantastic. I was pretty good at keeping up on their dishes (no dishwasher) and we all had fun together. That was good.

Also, I once stayed the night in the San Juan Airport in Puerto Rico when I was traveling by myself. That wasn't very cool. It was really cold and I didn't have many people around to share the experience with. I guess I should have couch surfed!!!

My roomies and I during my senior year of college let one of my friends surf our couch for a few nights. It was good! He needed somewhere to stay, and we had a couch. It worked pretty well.

During my first CS experience, my friend and I had a fantastic time. We went to a local CS gathering to exchange stories with other travelers.

One. Red Rocks in Dominica--absolutely breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. Fantastic.
Two. My mom decided to pick up the pieces from her (two) divorces and to still do her best to experience the goodness of God and of life.
