ABOUT ME

Usually described by others as something along the lines of 'an eccentric, tree-hugging, ginger hippy'. I don't think that is an unfair assessment!

PHILOSOPHY

Well...I live only by one core philosophy - do whatever the hell you like, as long as it isn't detrimental to anyone else. Of course sometimes I break that philosophy. But I try not to. I also believe that I have a responsibility to the bigger problems in the world. So green n' ethical is how I roll.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now I am staying still for a while. And sadly my sofa is not currently available :(
So for the time being - local meetups and shenanigans!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Zilch.

Lots of time spent help-xing but have somehow never yet made it to a couchsurfer's couch!

Interests

I like sustainability, travelling and food. Particularly all three together. I love to read (I'm quite the Tolkien geek). I love hiking. I love almost all things outdoors-y. And most things culture-y - especially local mythology! I love meeting interesting people and having adventures. I also like playing frizbee. Unfortunately I'm not very good at it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ecclectic on the music front. Ecclectic on the movie front. But I love a bit of action/adventure. I read a lot...favorites ranging from Austen to Tolkien to George RR Martin and I REALLY wish my cat would get her claws out of my leg right now....OWWW!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever seen? The first light of dawn creeping over Tanzania from almost-the-top of Mt Kilimanjaro, and knowing we were almost there.

That and sparkly seaweed in the Sargasso Sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh now this is a great idea!

Well I can teach people about recycling. And perhaps some knitting or upcycling. Other than that I'm going to need to think about this one.

I would like to learn many things!
