I’m an Australian in the UK (cliché, I know) and I have three weeks to kill before I start my new job (on the first of July). Im living in Surrey, but am interested in going anywhere and everywhere, so I’m looking for travel buddies within the 24-35 age range that have a similar interest in getting outdoors to keep me company, or locals that have a few days free (no pressure to give me a couch, I’m happy to find my own accomodation).

The good news is that I have a car, and I love long drives, so I’m free to go anywhere. I’m a frugal traveller, so I like camping or cheap accomodation.

I’m new to this app, and am not sure if this process will work, so forgive me if it takes me ages to respond!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m new to the UK and looking to meet up with people who might be interested in exploring the outdoors. I love coastlines and mountains and also looking into doing a free diving certificate somewhere around the west or south coast. If you have accomodation, that would be amazing, but I’m also keen for splitting air bnb, or camping space costs. But most importantly it’s more fun (and more safe) to explore with other people, so I’m also keen to do day trips if sharing accomodation doesn’t suit :)
I’m staying with family with very young kids when I’m not travelling, so unfortunately I can’t offer accomodation just yet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’m probably not as well travelled as most people I’ve seen on this site so far but I’ve recently spent 1.5 years living on a remote island (Christmas Island) off the coast of Indonesia where I started off-trail exploring, caving, snorkelling, free-diving (although admittedly I don’t think my skill level would allow me to call it that yet).
