About Me

I am a grounded big hearted redhead with deep roots in the Mississippi mud and a spirit that is chasing the California sun. I am a mother to two neurodivergent teenagers who have taught me everything I know about patience and unconditional loyalty. Professionally I work in strategic operations and human rights advocacy which means I am used to handling chaos with a steady practical hand. I am a Cajun Vegetarian chef which is my way of engaging the senses and keeping my culture alive while taking care of my body. I love loud music deep conversations and making a home feel like a sanctuary. Although I have been Agnostic since I was 14 I was raised in the Church by an Irish Catholic family and I still move through the world with those traditional values of service and consistency. I come off as strong because I have to be but I promise I am one of the most reliable and peaceful people you will ever meet. I have a clear background decent credit and I carry very little debt. I utilize THC CBD and CBN for wellness. I drink only on special occasions and I prefer a mostly alcohol free environment. I love all the messiness that kids pets and quirky uncles have to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am relocating to the West Coast to find a climate that heals me and a community that values quality over quantity. I am looking for safe harbors and good company as I make this transition. I believe that hospitality is a sacred thing and I always leave a place better than I found it. I am excited to swap stories share a savory homemade meal of red beans and rice and experience the local culture through the eyes of the people who live there. I am looking to connect with genuine down to earth folks who believe in building a stable village.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music that feels authentic and sticks to your ribs. I grew up singing in the pews so I have a deep love for anything with soul and a rhythm you can feel. I am drawn to stories that are gritty and honest and art that speaks to the resilience of the human spirit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have stood on the steps of state capitols in the Deep South to fight for human rights and healthcare access when everyone told me to stay quiet. I organized mass mobilizations and spoke truth to power all while raising two incredible children on my own. I have taken the wreckage of a hard past and built a beautiful solid life out of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a dark roux that will change your life and how to cook Cajun Vegetarian meals that satisfy the senses. I can help you organize your pantry your schedule or your small business because my brain loves structure. I am always ready to learn about local history native plants and the best hidden spots in your town. I am happy to share my stories my recipes and a listening ear if you need to unload.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I bring peace of mind and a full belly. I am happy to cook a rich Southern supper for your household as a thank you for your hospitality. I am tidy respectful of boundaries and I know how to make myself useful without being asked. I can offer great conversation on the porch or I can be quiet and out of your way if you need space. I share a deep respect for the comfort of a home.
