Overview
About Me
I am a professor of outdoor leadership at a small university in Northern California, where I also serve as the chair of our department. I teach courses for our outdoor leadership degree program, including experiential education, environmental education, risk management, and many others (including many outdoor activity courses). I love outdoor activities, and am an avid backpacker, mountain biker, skier, paddler, and rock climber. I also volunteer for several local service organizations, including the Shasta County Mountain Search and Rescue Team, Mount Shasta Ski Patrol, and Shasta Lake Fire Protection District. I love being able to serve my community with the skills I have developed.
I have recently begun a PhD program, studying environmental philosophy in the UK. I will be traveling a lot for this program.
I love animals, and had a beautiful white german shepherd for 13 years until I had to put her down. Due to the transient nature of my lifestyle, I now have 2 cats instead of a dog. They are adventurous, and have even been camping with me!
