Overview
About Me
I'm friendly, easy going and tidy - with an Australian sense of humour to go with my accent. I moved to the UK at the start of the year and am very much enjoying living and working as a teacher in London as well as exploring everything the UK and Europe have to offer. I like cooking, language (I teach and studied linguistics) travel, live music and hearing people's stories over a nice drink. I'm a fairly busy person and love making the most of my year abroad but I also think it's important to enjoy the relaxing side of life.
I've done quite a bit of travel as a tourist and have also done some volunteer work in South America, teaching English and also working with animals (yes, I held a monkey and patted a llama). I like going to the theatre and music festivals and quite often try to time my weekend travels with cool local events so if there's something going on where you are, let me know!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people and some of my closest friends are those I've met travelling. I think everyone has stories to share and I appreciate the inside knowledge and advice locals have about their city. I hope to be able to host couchsurfers myself soon - just sorting out the small London flat!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have quite diverse tastes in all of these (what a cliche but it's true..) however have a real soft spot for indie / alternative music (particularly Aussie artists!) so if you've heard of or listened to triple j, I'll be pretty excited! My favourite book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and my old colleagues at my school in Melbourne often questioned how I was so organised with work considering I seemed to have watched nearly every tv show that HBO produce (and more...).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once met a friendly llama while climbing Machu Picchu.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a passion for linguistics and the way people use language to interact and form their identities... so I could have a pretty solid chat about that.
