About Me

CURRENT MISSION

“No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time.” ― Lewis Carroll

ABOUT ME

I am a medical student at Columbia University in NYC.

I am a selective vegetarian (as in, I find ways to justify eating bacon occasionally...) with an unquenchable appetite for food, new cultures, and new adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

"there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." ~Chris McCandless (letter to Ron, Into the Wild)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think couchsurfing in an incredible concept and community and love to surf and host as much as possible!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love being a part of the couchsurfing community. If you are looking to stay with me in NYC, please prove that you have actually taken the time to read my profile in your message. Thanks!

Interests

For those who enjoy haikus:
I travel, run deep
through culture, and dance, twirling,
to catch the minutiae.

For those who enjoy lists: swing dancing, vegan/vegetarian cooking, David Attenborough nature documentaries, octopuses and other invertebrate sea life, learning ukulele, roadraces, distance running, counter-culture coffee, science-fiction and fantasy, community gardens, food trucks, hummus, bright nail polish, all things Broadway, hiking, chocolate, cartwheels, airports, tea parties, avian biology, used bookstores, festivals, jigsaw puzzles, wine bars, high-waisted shorts, and generally geeking out with kindred spirits over shared interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

See the sun NEVER set in Alaska during mid-summer,
Watch an albatross take flight on an uninhabited island on the Galapagos,
Catch lightning bugs by a creek in the Smoky Mountains,
Make kimchi using a hundreds year old recipe with my host-family in Busan, Korea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to buy you a coffee and hear your story.

I could probably teach you to swing dance, perform the Cup Song, and/or do a cartwheel, but I make no guarantees as to how successfully such a venture will play out.

I want to learn to break dance! It's on the bucket list.
