About Me
CURRENT MISSION
At the moment, Im taking a break from my own backyard - seeing new places, meeting new people and trying to learn spanish too!
ABOUT ME
At the moment I am living in the beautiful city of Sevilla, Spain. I am inbetween studies in Australia so am spending this year learning Spanish and travelling a bit in Europe and Asia.
Im hoping to meet some more people through couchsurfing for language exchange - I am always keen to practice my spanish or have a conversation in english. Im really hoping to be able to keep practicing when I get back to Australia!
Ive been lucky to have lived in both Asia and Europe in the last year and experienced two very different places, on more than just a tourist level. Its made me appreciate the value of having groups to connect with, and that the kindness of strangers does exist!
PHILOSOPHY
To live with an open mind and to see the best in people. I believe that the more we try and understand that everyone sees things in different ways, the better life will be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have previously had two couch-surfers stay at my house in Australia
Both were great, and I really enjoyed the experience of showing people around my city and being able to give some 'local advice'.
I have since couchsurfed myself in Belgium and had a wonderful time - definitely hoping to do some more!
Interests
Cooking - I love food and enjoy learning about the different ways of cooking and preparing it in different places. One of my favourite things to do is to visit food markets.
Sports - I enjoy all watersports (especially rowing) as well as hiking, running and swimming. I played netball for about 7 years watch the tennis.
Photography - nothing to serious, but I like being able to take photos of the places Ive seen and tap into my 'inner artist'. I also like going to photography exhibitions.
Cities and maps - I did a major in geography, so really like visiting new places and learning about them. I love collecting maps of all kinds too.

Music, Movies, and Books
BOOKS: I love to read anything and everything but here are a few current favourites
*Shantaram, David Gregory Roberts - A true story (though at times you wouldn't think so) of an Australian prison escapee and his life in India.
* Nothing to Envy, Barbara Demick - An insight into the lives of North Koreans
*Ticket to Ride, Sarah Darmody - Travelogue of a journey around America on the Greyhound bus routes
MOVIES:
*The Castle - Quintessential Australian humour
*Cool Runnings - Feel good film that always puts me in a good mood
*Crash - A movie about the unlikely connections between people living in the same city.
*Wall-E - An animation that achieves alot: manages to combine problems the world faces today with humour and a great story line.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best thing Ive ever done was to visit the DMZ, the boarder between North and South Korea. The intensity of the atmosphere was incredible, I cant imagine another place like it.
