Resumen
Sobre mí
Hi! We are Ana and Mauro, from Argentina! We met in Hawaii over a year ago and have been traveling together ever since. We both love traveling and adventures so we came up with the idea of coming to Southeast Asia without a return ticket, to enjoy culture, nature and connection with people from different backgrounds. We want to go through our backpacking trip mixing hitchhiking, public transportation used by locals, camping, staying at hostels, couchsurfing and volunteering.
Ana: I'm from Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, where I grew up with my grandma, my parents and later on my two younger brothers, who are 10 and 12 years old. I am a yoga teacher and student, I love writing, drawing, doing pottery, learning languages, being in nature, animals and exploring new places. I also love eating and trying new foods, getting to know new people and experiencing different lifestyles. I have been working in many different things since I was 14, like manicure, customer service, Uber driver, and many more. I left my country in 2020 to go to the USA to be a nanny and save money to travel, which has been my dream since I can remember. I spent two years in different parts of that country, and I met Mauro in my last year being there! Now I am excited to see everything that Southeast Asia and its people has to teach us, and welcome all the new experiences that we encounter along the way!
Mauro: I am from Tucumán, the north of Argentina. I'm 30 years old and I come from a middle class family. I have 3 siblings: an older brother, Pablo who is 34 years old, Lourdes who is 26yo, and a half brother from my dad's side, who is 20yo.
Through my life I had many different jobs, from construction (which is the one I worked at the most) to seeling cosmetic products. My last job and the one I was at for the longest time was the argentinian army (prefectura naval Argentina), a force that is in charge of the control of rivers and the sea. I worked there for 7 years. I started the job because I needed a stable job and continued because I had obligations and bills to pay. I honestly never liked the job, I felt like a prisoner and always looked for ways to get out of there. One day I talked to an ex coworker who was living in Spain at the time, and he told me that I could work and live abroad in many different ways without the need of a citizenship. So I started to do research and I got my USA visa. That is when it all started. In September 2019 I got my visa approved and I asked to be removed from the army. In November, I went to Miami. In the USA I've been traveling, exploring and doing many things in many places like Miami, California and Hawaii. There, everything was awesome, I met Ana and my plans changed. We decided to start this adventure traveling the world together with a backpack. We chose Thailand as our first destination, and here we are, seeing how things go and how we can learn more about the beautiful and broad asian culture. We heard about Couchsurfing which we thought would be great for cultural exchange. We are excited to see what is life going to surprise us with from now on.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
Ana: I am on couchsurfing because I think it will be one of the best ways to connect with people from all over the world and see the culture of the places from inside. I also love meeting new people!
Mauro: I want to know more about the lifestyle, the cultures and the ways other people from other backgrounds think

Música, películas y libros
Ana: the music I listen to depends on my mood, but I like pretty much any style! Right now my favorite artist is Shakira. I am a big fan of Harry Potter but I also love romantic and action movies. And I looove reading about spirituality and yoga, and also love science fiction. My favorite books are in the Harry Potter collection, but I also love Pride and Prejudice and Big Magic!
Mauro: it is hard for me to define my favourite music, I like all genres, I like hearing about what other people hear. A book I like is The Power of Now, by Eckhar Tolle
Algo increíble que he hecho
We both went skydiving at the Big Island of Hawaii, and we hiked for an hour to camp close to an active volcano! It was my second time skydiving (Ana), and I loved it so much the first time that I wanted Mauro to experience that too, so I came up with the idea of a short trip to this rare island, where we could both go and give it a try. We were both anxious and excited and a bit scared but it was amazing! We both loved it a lot.
And sleeping at the volcano was veeeeeery cold but we had a lot of blankets and enough food to get through the night, which was incredibly beautiful and amazing.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
Ana: I can teach and share yoga, Spanish and English, and I would love to learn about anything that comes up for me, especially how to cook food from different places and new languages!
Mauro: I am a person open to learning about everything. I am very interested in construction, cars mechanics, electricity, finances, business , psychology, the human body, music, education, physics, digital marketing, online content creation.
I am not a professional to teach, but I can teach what I know on electricity, construction, solar panels installation, cars mechanics, music (I can play the guitar and sing). I love sharing what I know when people are interested.
I like sharing moments, adventures, food, deep talks, but I also love having my own space and respecting everyone else's.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Ana: with hosts I can share quality time, talks, food, new experiences. I would love to learn from their lifestyle and customs, or hear their recommendations on things to do in the area. I am open to any ideas we might come up with.
Mauro: I am open to any ideas. I like cooking, singing, sports, adventures, getting out of the routine, dancing, meditating, yoga, scuba diving, seeing new places, meeting new people. I would love to share any of those with a host or something new that might come up!
