Sobre mí

I'm currently a student, although I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (I graduate May 2018). I'm always open to new experiences and ideas, and want to learn as much as possible about this world we live in.

I'm passionate about racial justice, and would like to be a criminal defense attorney (I'm getting my law degree right now). I'm a bike commuter typically, and love to hike, yoga, and run as well. I was the kid who got caught in class with another book hidden inside her textbooks. While I like to think I've grown in other ways, that hasn't really changed.

I love to explore new places, so let's go adventurin' together!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I think the human connection you can't get in a hotel or hostel is worthwhile, and there's nothing like visiting a city and learning about it from the perspective of people who live there.

Intereses

I'm a sort of yoga and meditation enthusiast. I love to read, listen to music, cook, sing, run extremely slowly, swim, and write. I enjoy traveling, and I want to see everything and learn about it all!

Música, películas y libros

My favorite music is constantly changing - I've been listening to a lot of Rihanna bangers lately. I love to learn more about music - let's talk about your faves!

Favorite movies: I'm not a huge movie person, but I do love television. Right now I'm watching Master of None, I keep up with Jane the Virgin, Modern Family, and Blackish, and I recently finished Stranger Things.

Too many books! My taste is pretty eclectic, and I don't stay close to any one genre.

Most recent: The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner, My (not so) Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella, Kindred by Octavia Butler, Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence, The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley by Hanna Tinti, Lion by Saroo Breyerly, and Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson.

My Ride or Dies: Harry Potter series, Anne of Green Gables, Tamora Pierce books, The Secret Garden, I Feel Bad About My Neck (Nora Ephron's memoir).

Algo increíble que he hecho

I lived in India for seven months the year after I graduated (a coincidence; I left India when I was just seven months old) and it was amazing getting to know my extended family so well.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I'm almost a yoga/meditation teacher, and have acquired some knowledge about a few other things as well.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can cook some pretty decent Indian food for\with you, and can offer yoga and meditation classes. Open to other suggestions as well.
