To travel on a budget, yes, but what really strikes me about this community is the fact that we are all based on giving to others without asking anything but company in return. To be so enthusiastic about the human experience to allow a stranger into your home for free because it is just a wonderful thing to do is they type of thing that wonderful people do. The sense of compassion and openness on this app is astounding and I am so grateful to be able to meet you caring folks. As soon as I get out of this gated community, I will be opening my home up to new friends as well (:

兴趣

Anything and everything I can get my hands on... But no longer than for a week. I can play a few songs on guitar, I sorta can hula hoop, I wore wrap stones on and off again, I'm mediocre at cooking, pretty average at painting, I've dabbled in dry taxidermy, I can crochet a couple things, and sew from time to time. My current activity of choice is playing the ukulele but we will see how long that lasts! As Adam Savage once said: I don't like to think of myself as an undisciplined loon, I am but a serial collector of skills.

One passion that has not faded with time, however, is my sense of adventure. I got feet below my knees, a hammock in my bag, and a car that will get me anywhere and you better believe I use them!

I skydive, have been lost in the Blue Ridge Mountains (had to call a rescue squad. It was a hoot), I have been from NoLa to Utah to Michigan and hopefully plan to expand my horizons even more.

Teaching: I can show you the basics more things than not (as I said, I flit around and find new skills to put under my belt but specialize in nothing) and love sharing any knowledge that I can with others.

Learning: GIVE ME ALL YOU GOT! Seriously, a day without something learned is a day not lived.

Sharing: I do not believe in karma. However, I do believe that what you give is what you get. Having a positive and constructive attitude will prompt others to do the same for you. I am a very open person and love to share and receive views on philosophy, politics, and science and debate opposing view points. From Platonian view points on successful civilization, to the meaning of life, to the Fermi paradox. Let's conversate!

Conversation, honesty and integrity that provides security when someone is kind enough to offer up their home to me, genuine friendship, I am also big into gifting. Though I do not have money to spare, I am an avid cleaner. My grandmother always taught me to thank my host by leaving the home 10x better than I found it, so unless any objections are to be had, you'll probably find me tidying up all of your home's nooks and crannies. I will be happy to cook for you. I usually come with spirits! There is nothing like sitting down for dinner with a glass of wine to break the tension and getting to know someone. Among other things, I am always happy to leave a gift before I carry on my journey. Frequently they include stones, hand bleached deer skulls, some new hand crocheted slippers of gloves, art, things of that nature.
