Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As the ever faithful proponent of the concepts of citizen diplomacy as I understand them, I do everything I can to engage people around the globe in productive conversation and mutual exploration. I strive to learn about and understand different perspectives, while being the ever thoughtful and conscientious representative of my own country and culture, through service and friendship.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience with couchsurfing was in Amman, Jordan, where both my flatmates were active participants. While I was there, my flatmates hosted countless surfers (and I mean countless), and I enjoyed getting to see the world via their perspective while never leaving the comfort of my living room. Though I found it tedious and a bit overwhelming at times, I have treasured the experience.
Beyond getting to know some great people who have surfed with us, I have also enjoyed meeting some couch surfers living in the same city, and all the social events centered around couch surfing for the expat community in Amman.
I have also had the pleasure of hosting myself once, and if my living situation allows me to host in the future, I absolutely will.
