Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Ma Dukes was a librarian... this one's kinda tough. I like me some Raymond Carver and some Calvin & Hobbes. Children's books. Invisible Man, No Country For Old Men, Kavalier and Clay, Norwegian Wood, Shadow of the Wind, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Netherland, Oscar Wao, Kazuo Ishiguro, Interpreter of Maladies, Nathan Englander stuff, Gilead, Middlesex, Brautigan, short stories up the ying yang, Roald Dahl, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Shel Silverstein. Typography manuals, grid books, blah blah blah...

Movies: I mean... it sounds pretty good if I say Chungking Express, but realistically, The Sandlot and Dumb & Dumber are pretty neck-and-neck. And for some reason, any time I'm on a long flight, I always end up watching Good Will Hunting.

Music: pots, pans, and sitars. As long as you're not, like, really passionate about trance or something, we should be good. I understand this is sometimes unavoidable in parts of Europe and Asia. I'm trying to be much more understanding and tolerant about it. Kinda.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

all of iceland pretty much knocked my socks off. surfing in lombok was also brilliant. petra's beautiful except when you're out of water.

Teach, Learn, Share

it ain't that serious. i mean, well... it is, but. you know what i mean.
