About Me

I have just started my PhD at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, doing research on sodium ion batteries. Three years ago, I lived in a foreign country for the first time, just outside Geneva. This was when I realized that I love to travel and see and experience new things, and I think doing it with locals should be the best way to do it! I feel a strong drive to see and experience the most of the countries I am staying in, and love to meet the local people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to experience new places, cultures and people. I really think the best way to experience this is to stay with the locals and get new friends!

Interests

I have the ability to be interested in almost everything. I have been doing athletics for 13 years, I have tried all the events, but specialised to sprint and hurdles. I have played clarinet in various wind ensembles and an orchestra for a total of 20 years, and I have also played saxophone in a big band. In my free time I like to go to the mountains, train and try new things with good friends. I also like to use time on cooking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to play music, and I listen to all kinds of music from classical through jazz, pop, radio hits and rock to metal music.
I like to read books and watch movies. I always have a book to read and I think I should watch movies more often. It is more like a holiday thing right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done is to play clarinet in the band of His Majesty the King's Guard of Norway. They are considered one of the best in the world in military precision and drill performance.
Another amazing thing I have done is working at CERN and living around Geneva, so close to the Alps, which offers the most amazing scenery I have ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you some Norwegian, science, athletics or anything I know! I would also love to learn something new!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer hosts a good talk, some cooking, a nice day outside or whatever the host wants. I can also offer silence if that is preferred.
