About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the world a safer place by promoting tolerance and understanding between people.

ABOUT ME
I am an easy going 73 year old who still has dreams for the future. There are still places to travel to and people to meet and enjoy. At my age partying is no longer nr 1 priority. I enjoy conversation and exchange of ideas and experiences much more. I am a non smoker as I do not want to shorten my life unnecessarily. Prefer vegetarian food or fish. Eva retired from her work as a psychotherapist in 2019.
I am married to Eva for more than 40 years and we have two children, Amanda 36 years and Martin 34. Both Amanda and Martin live in Stockholm.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to make as little environmental impression as possible, especially regarding non-renewable resources. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Try to understand as much as possible of things/people who are strange, different, interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Member since Nov 2010. Not yet member of any group. Because of travel and family commitments we cannot promise to host under 2020.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very pleasant experiences in Belgium, Germany Japan, Serbia and Taiwan.

Interests

Enjoy physical activities like cycling, running, cross country skiing, walking in the countryside which I do mostly with my wife Eva. I like reading, preferably in English, both fiction and non-fiction. Ian McEwan, Graham Swift are two favorites. Love travel books especially by Colin Thubron, Nick Danziger and Patrick Leigh Fermor. Listen a lot to classical music without being a connoisseur or especially knowledgeable. I have of course an interest in society and political questions and where the world is going.

Music, Movies, and Books

Travel books, fiction and non-fiction. Music wise I enjoy all types of music except techno and the like. World music enriches my listening greatly. One favorite who has got under my skin is Norah Jones.
Don´t see many American films, like quality films from Europe, Middle East, Asia, Latin America. Action films can stay in the can as far as I am concerned.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked through the cliffs to Petra in the early morning.
