About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing a Book on Mythical Spaces of Lawlessness.

ABOUT ME

My friends would say I'm friendly, open minded, respectful, self-reflective and creative. Hopefully, that's true, because I'm also a scepticist....

PHILOSOPHY

Music, Movies, and Books

I dont go to the movies, but I like tv-shows such as Breaking Bad, Games of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Weeds, Sarah Silverman, Star Trek, Futurama

Post-Punk, Anti-Folk, Electro-Rap

because I'm a scholar for comparative literature, reading books is my profession. i especially like the beat generation (Ginsberg, Kerouac, Burroughs) and french post-romantic poetry (Baudelaire, Rimbaud), but also Hafes, Villon, Scott, Proust, Kafka, Camus, Beckett, Genet, Salinger, Brinkmann, Celan, Bachmann, Moravia and many more. philosopher i like to read are Kant, Marx, Cassirer, Benjamin, Adorno (the dialectic traditon -though missing Hegel, of whom I almost read nothing), also Barthes, Foucault, Deleuze

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The hospitality of the people when I (hitch)hiked in the Ardennes and I was broke and homeless ("tout va bien...").

A morbid tour across the central cementary in Vienna in January with -20°C ("auf'm zentralfriedhof, do frierste di zu tod"). Afterwards we went for dinner in a cozy coffee house. During this trip I met someone who later became my girlfriend for a while.

Attacked by an elephant in Kruger Park/South Africa ("turoeehhh!").

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach aesthetic and literary theory as well as history of literature and arts. i like to engage people in platonic dialogues through which both sides might learn something.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
