Hi, my name is Lika. I was born in Moldova and spent my childhood between Moldova, Ukraine and Russia. I'm a single and adventurous mom of two teenage sons (Vlad, 17 y.o. and Kolia, 14 y.o.) and we've been travelling since 2013. We moved out of Russia and became full-time world travellers in November 2025 ✈🌍🚗🌏🚌🌎🚄

I work as a private online English teacher and translator and the kids don't go to school - they are worldschoolers and learn online and also from the world around them. Both kids are fluent in Russian and English. Like most kids their age, they are fond of computer games, but they also love board games - some complicated ones, so get ready to have a good game with us as we're bringing them with us 😎

Being a digital nomad, I need to spend around 1-3 hours daily working on my computer (not every day!) and kids sometimes have online lessons, too. If you go away during the day, we'd appreciate the possibility to stay at your place during that time as going somewhere would disturb our work and studies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the feeling of becoming a part of someone's life for a while, the feeling of community and sharing common interests. That's why I prefer hosting and staying for longer periods of time - at least a week - so we have a good chance to know each other better.

Couchsurfing also a great way to learn about the culture and the country from the inside. We've hosted many wonderful people ourselves, so I know what if feels like to be a host. I understand that many people use this app just to find free bed and breakfast, but we are not really like that.

Interests

I love learning languages, speaking and teaching them. I'm fluent in Russian, English, Spanish and Czech and I can understand some related languages. I'd be happy to meet fellow teachers to discuss some professional issues.

I also love pets and can help you look after them.

I dance latino dance (bachata) - I'd be happy to go to a dance party together if you want to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not just one, but lots of travelling with kids:
- around Thailand for two months in 2013 (with kids 1,5 and 4,5 y.o.)
- Europe trip for almost three months (Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy) in 2014 (with kids 2 and 5 y.o.)
- Countless short-term trips to many places in and outside Russia
- Round-the-world trip, from July 2019 until March 2020, visiting 24 countries altogether
- 3 months through Russia by car in 2022
- India, Malaysia and Thailand trip in 2023
- On the road again since November 2025!!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We've travelled to many places and homes and we're very adaptive and don't require any special treatment - we're bringing our own matresses and sleeping bags and we normally buy our own food (which we often share with our hosts, too!)

When you accept us as your guest:
- I'll cook some delicious Russian food for you. A lot of people say that I'm a good cook and I really like cooking and know a variety of recipies from different cultures. I hope you'll like it, too!
- We'll keep the place clean and help you with any household chores you need - cleaning, doing the laundry, shopping, taking care after kids or pets... you name it!
- since I'm a teacher, I can give you some lessons of English or Russian, or we can just practice them in casual conversations;
- Vlad is really good at computers, so he can help you with software if you need it;
- We're bringing some board games, so we can play them together;
- There are a lot of interesting topics we can discuss - I can share my travelling experience, especially travelling with kids as they grew older, some tips and tricks
- We're open to other suggestions you might have, whether they involve helping you is some way or having fun together.
