Hi, my name is Lika. I was born in Moldova and spent my childhood between Moldova, Ukraine and Russia. I'm a single and adventurous mom of two teenage sons (Vlad, 17 y.o. and Kolia, 14 y.o.) and we've been travelling on and off since 2013.

I work as a private online English teacher and the kids don't go to school - they are worldschoolers and learn online and also from the world around them. Both kids are fluent in English. Like most kids their age, they are fond of computer games, but they also love board games - some complicated ones, so get ready to have a good game with us ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the feeling of becoming a part of someone's life for a while, the feeling of community and sharing common interests. It's also a great way to learn about the culture and the country from the inside. I travelled a lot via Couchsurfing to many wonderful places in this word, so now it's my turn to give back the world what it gave me by welcoming travellers at my place 🤗

Since I'm a single mom, safety and the peace of mind are extremely important to me and my kids. If you are requesting to stay at our place, please read my profile in full, especially the "home" section - I spent my time writing it so be a dear and spend your time finding and reading it! Seriously, I might reject your request without it.

One more rule - please do not request "just in case" if you are not actually planning to come! I take my hosting seriously, so after you confirm I make a room for you and might even reject other travellers because of that... Please be kind to me and the others!

Interests

I love learning languages and speaking them. I'm fluent in Russian, English, Spanish and Czech and I can understand some related languages. I'm a certified English teacher, so I can help you with some English or Russian if you want ;-)

We are also fond of board games, math, science, handicrafts, cooking, animals, gardening, camping, different cultures and much more! I love learning new things so I'd be happy to share something new and interesting with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not just one, but lots of travelling with kids:
- around Thailand for two months in 2013 (with kids 1,5 and 4,5 y.o.)
- Europe trip for almost three months (Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy) in 2014 (with kids 2 and 5 y.o.)
- Countless short-term trips to many places in and outside Russia
- Round-the-world trip, from July 2019 until March 2020, visiting 24 countries altogether
- 3 months through Russia by car in 2022
- India, Malaysia and Thailand trip in 2023
- On the road again since November 2025!!!
