About Me

ABOUT ME

My hiking boots have pink shoelaces. I always book flights on the right side of airplanes because I can only fall asleep on my right side. I've been to every US state except Maine, Alaska, and Hawaii. I love orange jackets. I drink pumpkin spice lattés year-round. I've worn Rainbow sandals year-round since high school—even in the snow—and I'm on pair 3. My last pair got stolen by hyenas in South Africa. I love long walks on rainy summer nights. I'm lactose-intolerant but didn't realize it until I was 22. I love road trips and think they should never be planned.

Interests

I have a strong interest in environmental policy, especially as it affects environmental justice and water rights. Those issues really get me going. On a similar note, I also LOVE exploring what nature has to offer, and thus am an avid backpacker and hiker. I also have a passion for film, and have experience with/in film theory, criticism, journalism, and filmmaking itself. That, in fact, is why I recently moved to Los Angeles. If we meet up, I'd love to tell you more about my journey and hear what you have to say!

Oh, yeah, and I also just started brewing beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2011, I got locked inside the Desert Dome at the Omaha Zoo with my little sister. The exhibit has a bunch of animals that just walk around freely, and we got lost and then stuck inside a few minutes after the zoo closed. The animals followed us around as we panicked and cackled loudly at the setting sun.

That was when I made my first 911 call.
