About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Staying alive

ABOUT ME

Although I like architecture, I really just like the creative prcoess involved in building and designing things, art, music, food, people. I feel like exposing yourself to new ideas and places is the best way to have a well balanced education, and that most of what I learn does not come from teachers but rather it comes from being receptive to other peoples ideas. While traveling I think I learn the most because I am exposed to so many people with different ideas and perspectives than myself.

In my free time I love to cook, and bake bread most of all.

PHILOSOPHY

I am currently studying architecture, which absorbs most of my time, although I still like to go out and have a good time. I decided last year that I wanted to study in a different environment so that I have a broader perspective on architecture and also just to get more experience living on my own. For architecture, travel is important because you need to see and experience things to truly understand them. So much that I study is only though pictures and virtual representations and I feel like there is a distance that makes learning more difficult. I am very open minded and I like challenges. I came to study in germany with absolutely no knowledge of the language and now I am able to understand my classes which are completely in German. I also think that it is important to visit a city with someone who actually lives in a place because my experience of a city is not just the sights, but the people and the culture that make it genuinely unique.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently traveling so I cant really offer my couch up, and being new to couch surfing havent had any experience hosting yet either, but right now my roommates have couchsurfers coming to visit quite often, and I really like seeing new faces in the apartment.

I also sleep on couches.
Or mattresses, or floors, something horizontal usually.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Im not sure if it counts, but right now I am staying with a friend on her floor for a month in Brussels. I have a twin brother and so I am pretty good at sharing things and also giving people enough personal space.
