About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Locked down in Budapest for the winter, keep improving my Hungarian while gaining experience teaching english in and around Budapest. See as much of Hungary as i can.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small coastal town in Australia, pretty laid back and sheltered from big city life with lots of nature to get lost in. My mums Hungarian, and ive visited a few times growing up, My first word was Hungarian, but supposedly I had my own language for awhile. I really love learning and speaking in different languages.
Sometimes I just feel like being quiet, observing, thinking. And other times im manic as, mental, over stimulated and a bit feral. Maybe theres a word for that, but generally im pretty happy and easy to get on with,

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people how you want them to treat you.
Happiness is a state of mind.
I probably wont ever know what im doing here, but until then ill keep trying to figure it out or fuck it up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a big house, and wether it was friends, travellers musicians playing festivals or strays we've hosted many folks in our home over the years. i havent had the opportunity to host any CS people yet but once i get a space of my own i will be so happy at the prospect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none yet!! but soon i hope

Interests

Playing and listening to music and people playing music. Making things, building things, stuff with my hands. walking around new cities, old buildings churches and castles.
I like to eat alot, i love all kinds of food, cooking dinner with some music and a glass of red with friends is the best, especially in winter.
Grew up in the country so theres nothing better then being outdoors climbing things and exploring.Im a pretty good tree climber.

Music, Movies, and Books

music creates or expresses a mood, so it depends on how im feeling, or what i want to be feeling, but i especially like live music and playing music and electronic music.
movies i dont know whatever really.
I like getting really into a book, when you cant stop reading, and every spare minute you find you just try to get a few more pages out of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

working as a farm hand on an estate in the scottish highlands, taking the horses up into the mountains to recover the deer that the owner had stalked and culled, cleaned them on the hill and brought them down the misty mountain trail on the horses backs.

tripping balls in a big ass fast flowing river in Anatolia somwhere in Turkey at the eclipse festival of 2006, that with the total eclipse of the sun, where reality becomes dreamscape, and the atmosphere thick and silent, ( i was straight during this experience mind you) was incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language obviously!!! I hope any place i go, even if only for one day i can pick up some of the language. Approaches to learning, or learning styles, how peoples brains work differently.
I can open 2 bottles of beer using the two bottles of beer, its handy.
