ABOUT ME

This is the first (and only) time that we have a shared profile. Since we are married and travel together, you will meet both of us if you surf with us or if you host us.
We took a trip to Europe years ago and it was wonderful. We stayed at hotels in 3 cities and with friends in 3 other cities. They were both incredible experiences. This was a memorable trip and we only have good things to say about our adventure. In the cities where we didn't know anyone we followed our common sense to find restaurants and asked locals or followed gondoliers in Venice to find the most amazing tratoria to have lunch. This would have been easier if we had met another couchsurfer for drinks or dinner or even just asked for their recommendations. Lonely Planet books can only do so much. Meeting locals is part of opening your mind when traveling.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to host people that have their profile complete. We try to get out of town often to avoid the routine most weekends. We also have friends and family visiting sometimes, but if we can we will be happy to host you. If we are in town and can't host you we could show you around or have a coffee/drink.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Catalina was already a CS member since 2007. The Tampa Bay group is an active group and they have a lot to share.

Music, Movies, and Books

We do not share the same music taste. Andre loves rock. Catalina loves salsa, merengue, vallenatos, pop, and also some rock. We only have a few bands that we both like (U2, Soda Stereo, or Reggae music). Road trips tend to be hard because of this!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking an open door helicopter tour in Kauai was amazing!!! we were both scared and at the same time fascinated with the waterfalls, mountains, and scenery in this magical island.

Teach, Learn, Share

We both grew up in very conservative countries and societies. It was hard to show who you really were without criticism. After living the the US for over 14 years you realize that when you meet someone different to you that person will have the most impact in your life. We don't judge other people and we tend to stay away from other people's troubles.
