About Me

Hello! I enjoy meeting new people and having great conversations. I like having family and/or friends around so we can enjoy each others company. I am usually a very optimistic person, and try to see the good in all situations and people. I like to travel, but haven't had the opportunity/time/money to do much, but hope to do more in the future.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet awesome people! I love the concept of couchsurfing: opening your home to travelers from across the country (or even world) in exchange for stories and friendship. I think couchsurfing shows that you can rely on the good in people, which helps restore my faith in humanity. I have hosted a few couchsurfers with my friend, and hope continue to host some more. I also hope to use couchsurfing in travel sometime in the future.

Interests

I love to learn about anything and everything (f you're not learning, you're not living!) Reading is a great escape from reality for me. I love people, and enjoy learning about them and their culture. I have a huge soft spot for animals, and spend a lot of time with my Boston Terrier :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different kinds of music, and being introduced to music I am unfamiliar with.
I enjoy comedies, musicals, and movies that make me think.
I love to read pretty much everything, but the books that I enjoy the most are ones that help to open my mind and my heart. My favorite book is Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom; it truly touched my heart and made me evaluate they way I view life. Another book that I really enjoyed was Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert--it instilled a desire in me to experience what the world has to offer. And of course, The Harry Potter Series will always hold a special place in my heart :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my last year of pharmacy school, I had the amazing opportunity to spend 5 weeks in a Campo of the Dominican Republic. I, alongside dental, nursing, medical, undergrad and other pharmacy students, setup clinics in a few different Campos where the Dominicans could come to get basically free health care. The Campo I stayed in was El Caimito. It was in the mountains and absolutely beautiful. Even more beautiful than the landscape, however, were the people that lived in El Caimito. These wonderful people showed us what really matters in life: your relationships with others. I have never met happier people, and they live with much less than what any of us lived with. It was a very humbling and life changing time for me. I can't write everything I learned or experienced here...it would be a book!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer what most travelers would be hoping for: a place to sleep, indoor plumbing, food, laundry if needed, conversation, etc.
