I think Couchsurfing is a brilliant idea to get a real impression of locals in the area you travel to and to travel with a low budget to unexpected places.

I can teach you German, vegetarian and glutenfree cooking, some sorts of handcrafting or gardening (like how to cut the branches of an apple tree) and so on.
