Hello! My name is Andrea. I am 24 years old and I am from the Czech Republic. I study at the Masaryk university in the second largest city of my country (Brno).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like to get know different cultures and people and traveling is the best way to do it. But also during my time in Czech republic I try to get in touch with people from different countries. I was for a several time "buddy" and guide for students on Erasmus in my country.

Interests

In my free time I really like cooking and baking, watching series and movies, reading books and spending time with my friends. When I was younger I did many sports – tennis, volleyball, cheerleading. Nowadays I like jogging, roller skating and water tourism.
I am also interested in volunteering. As a volunteer I was for about two years part of the project “Tutoring Roma children”. I tutored two Roma girls in fifth grade Czech and English languages, Math, History and Geography. I was also for a year member of school club “Mission Hope”. It organizes a lot of activities, I choose visiting lonely seniors in home for the elderly. Last but not least, I babysit children as a part-time job.

Music, Movies, and Books

I do like indie (especially indie folk) music - my favourite music bands are Miner, Of monsters and men, The Lumineers.
I really like fantasy, sci-fi , horror and catastrophic movies. My favourite movie series are for example Star Wars, Back to the Future, Jurassic park. But I also like Pride and Prejudice, Titanic or Phantom of the Opera movies. I am also a big fan of series, like GOT, TVD, HIMYM, TBBT, Community, The Act and much more!
I prefer thrilling books, dystopies and biographies but also some classical authors (Austin or Czech writer Čapek). My most favorite book is probably 1984 by G. Orwell.
