About Me

I’m from Italy and now moved to Sri Lanka with my wife, but more often I live in between — between countries, projects, long bus rides, half-finished conversations, and a vague idea of where I’m going next. I work in academic research, and that's why I can manage to be here and nowhere.

I was never good at planned travel. I don’t have a bucket list or a favorite beach. I get bored easily in cities that function too well. I prefer places that are layered — not because they’re “messy” or “exotic,” but because they actually have things to say, even if you don’t understand them yet.

I like conversations that spiral — the kind that start with a dumb joke and somehow end up on post-colonial state formation. I hate malls, resorts, and anything “curated.” I’ll take a noisy bazaar over a shopping street, a motorbike through empty roads over any highway, and a local food shack over anything Michelin. I get restless in clean, organized cities. I prefer places with layers — history, contradiction, a bit of chaos.

I travel slowly. I often stay longer than planned. I don’t need much. Some company, a few thoughts worth writing down, and something good to eat.

If you’re into music, food, folklore, or spontaneous sociological rants, we’ll probably get along.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used coachsurfing a lot about ten years ago...The first trip i did with girlfriend (now wife) was through couchsurfing. Now we're travelling together to Kurdistan and would like to meet people from the area!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, help with small things around the house, or just give you some space if you're busy. If you’re up for talking, I’m always curious to learn about where I am — just to understand how people live and think. I’m happy to share music, stories from other places, or just sit around and do nothing in good company. I try to be easy to host and not make things complicated.
