About Me

¡La vida es bella!

Mi nombre es Andrea Celeste. Mis raíces (my roots) trace back to the fertile grounds of Mexico, watered and nurtured in the endearing Midwest, and now thriving as a local and active hunger-fighting community member in Portland, OR.

Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved the adventure of travel - the uncertainty, moments of awe, new sights, FOOD, and the unveiling of new discoveries (internal, as well as external).

I love feeling like an explorer-surrendering to the uncertainties that come with new land, new languages, new money and all the challenges that make us dig deeper. Travel also invites spontaneity, while new discovery demands a humble heart and a willingness to be wrong when things don't turn out the way you imagined -- this is an interesting conduit for growth on so many levels.

We have one life to live, and I continuously ask myself what I am willing to give up to live it to the fullest. Full in the heart, but minimalist in the practice.. we are liberated to go places when the attachment is lite.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love embracing serendipitous experiences and encounters. Making connections in this vast network begins with a story. Stories are a catalyst for strengthening human-to-human compassion; something that is in dire need. Practicing the art of listening and feeling fully in every moment of the experience is something I look forward to.

I would like to share my stories, passion, philosophy, and perhaps theories for resilience and perseverance. If I know one thing to be true, is that there's a lot to learn from one another, and I'm looking forward to the worlds Couchsurfing shall reveal anew.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Embracing (almost) 32 trips around the sun has been amazing! Also, the ever-evolving understanding of what it means to be human.

To me, being human is one of the bravest and amazing things we can do. I embrace loving each and every one wholeheartedly, with the intention to empower an echo in the same -- changing one heart at a time, for a collectively paved way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Food is medicine. I love creating and sharing nourishing meals.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You can expect me to pull out my traveling spice rack and food that I collect while wandering about and create a wholesome meal. I am mindful of my environment, and always strive to leave it better than I found it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden
