About Me

Hello! I am from a small town in the Northwest of Italy and currently studying my bachelor in London. I like to think that I am quite easy-going and ready to adapt (thanks to my experiences abroad, as a child I was quite spoilt). I still haven't been to most places in the world but I lived in three different countries so I am always happy to share my experiences and learn as much as possible from others!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling and even more living abroad because of the chances you get to meet people from all backgrounds. I think that every culture is valuable but that men are essentially the same and I thus think that travelling is paramount to become open-minded and respectful of diversity. So Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to make travels even more enjoyable and meaningful (and cheaper obviously).

Interests

My passions are travelling and reading. I am deeply interested and passionate about political, economic, social and philosophical issues and I am always keen on discussing them with others, especially if they have different perspectives.
Among sports, I'm especially keen on Football and Basketball but the one I'm very good at is skiing. I also like playing the piano and dancing, but I kinda suck.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading is a passion I have had since I was a child, and thus I guess that "Harry Potter" makes it to the top of my list. I'd also add "The Great Gatsby", "Animal Farm" and "Siddharta" as best classics and "Perpetual Peace", "Gomorra" and "23 things they don't tell you about Capitalism" as best non-fiction. Plus, hard to tell, but I think Gandhi's writings have influenced me more than anyone else's (philosophically for sure, but I wish also a tiny bit in everyday life).

A few movies I really loved: Forrest Gump, Silence of the Lambs, Inglorious Basterds, No Country for Old Men, The Wolf of Wall Street.

Don't know much about music (though I used to play the piano), at the moment Red Hot Chilli Peppers are my favourite, but I guess for me the best song ever remains Imagine (for the instrument and the lyrics).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First great experience abroad: February-June 2012, five months as exchange student in Melbourne, Australia. I met heaps of awesome people, made friends and had a wonderful time. I especially liked the trip to the desert, near Ayers Rock (Uluru).
